Our new high quality Infra-Red (IR) Blaster/Transmitter cables allow you to control additional, non-B&O equipment such as STBs, Apple TV etc via your Bang & Olufsen BeoSystem 1, 2, or 3 and remote control.

Most BeoVision televisions and BeoSystems have IR output sockets for the connection of IR Blaster cables. The older generation TVs have output sockets that are normally marked up as C1, C2, C3... etc.. If you have one of the very latest BeoVision TVs (e.g. BeoPlay V1, BeoVision 11, BeoVision 12, BeoVision Avant 55) then you will require an RJ45 connection type IR Blaster cable (see our other product listings.)

The cable simply plugs into the IR output socket on the BeoSystem 1, 2 or 3 and the IR transmitter itself can be placed up to a distance of 1 metre away from the equipment to be controlled.

The IR transmitter has a self-adhesive backing which allows the transmitter to be mounted directly over the IR receiver on the set-top box or alternatively to a shelf or cabinet door (as shown in the illustration picture above.) Please note that for best results the IR transmitter is best placed directly over the IR receiver on the connected equipment to be controlled.

Note

Your BeoSystem 1, 2, 3 must have your device equipment loaded into the software list. For example, if you wish to connect an Apple TV and control it through your BeoVision TV and remote control, the setup list for the source connections must show Apple TV or Apple Remote under set-top box. If your BeoSystem/TV does not show your equipment in the list of sources, then a software update may be required. This is carried out by your authorised Bang & Olufsen dealer/installation engineer.

Please check that your BeoSystem has an IR PUC output socket, and that it is a 3.5 mm jack type prior to placing your order. We have the RJ45 connection type as a different product.

The IR Blaster comes as standard with 3 metres of cable. If your equipment is further than 3 metres from the IR output socket on your BeoSystem, you will require an 'IR Blaster Extension Cable'. These are available in our eBay store in various lengths.
