Listing is for one - Rare 1950s Magnetic Drum Memory Rotor - Vintage Mainframe Computer History - 9"

This is an authentic magnetic memory drum from the early days of computing (circa 1950s/60s). It’s a heavy, solid metal cylinder with the original copper-oxide magnetic coating. This technology was the precursor to the modern hard drive—data was stored as magnetic pulses on the surface as the drum spun at high speeds. I think this is similar to - "Librascope" and of the "IBM 650 era" A very cool industrial decor / conversation piece. a real 1950s Magnetic Memory Drum - IBM 650 / LGP-30 Era Mainframe is RARE indeed!

It’s a great-looking piece of industrial history. The interior has "MEMORY DRUM" handwritten in marker and a stamped serial number (2375).
