A prong set coin bezel holds the coin securely by gripping the edge rather than covering the faces. This helps keep the coin as the focal point while allowing more open visibility of both sides. The open-edge style can also leave more of the rim visible compared with fully wrapped bezels.

Care: Wipe with a soft cloth after wear and avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, and ultrasonic cleaners.

Chains can vary quite a bit in width, design, and clasp size, so without seeing your specific chain in person, it’s difficult to say for sure whether it will fit this pendant. That said, based on our experience, most chains up to 3mm–4mm wide tend to fit without an issue. Chains with larger or unusually shaped end caps may have trouble fitting through the bail.

If you do decide to order the pendant and find that the bail doesn't quite accommodate your chain, you may be able to gently adjust it yourself—or take it to a local jeweler who can modify it to fit perfectly.

The design is credited to James B. Longacre, who served as Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. Collectors recognize the series for its historic run and its connection to America’s gold coinage era.

On the obverse, the coin features a left-facing Liberty portrait wearing a coronet inscribed “LIBERTY,” surrounded by stars and the date. The reverse carries a heraldic eagle with shield, with inscriptions including the denomination and national legends typical of the series.

While small visual details can vary by year and mint issue, the physical specifications (including standardized diameter and thickness) remain consistent for bezel compatibility.
