I AM NOT A MODEL RAILWAY COLLECTOR

I believe this is a Marklin Gauge 1 wagon made for the US-market / UK-market - experts have told me this, others have told me it was made by Bing. I think this dates to around 1904 and is extremely rare

The closest match that I can find with English lettering for the export market, was made by Marklin, and it sold at Christie's in 2004 - please see the final photograph

It measures approximately 10.5cm long, 7.0cm high and 5.0cm wide.

  • There is paint loss commensurate with the age.
  • The wheels move
  • There is a tiny bit of rust underneath
  • The footplate is a little bent / twisted
  • I assume it is missing a roof ?
  • It doesn't appear to have been repaired

Please make your own decision as to what it is and only bid if you are happy & confident - I am able to provide additional photographs, but I cannot answer anything technical.
