David Small - Ontario Progressive Conservative - 1981 - Riding of Ottawa Centre

David Small ran for Bill Davis' Ontario PCs in the 1981 provincial election in Ottawa Centre. While unsuccessful, he came within 700 votes of the winning candidate, Ontario NDP leader Michael Cassidy.

Claude Bennett - Ontario Progressive Conservative - 1985 provincial election - Riding of Ottawa South

Originally an Ottawa city councillor and acting mayor, Claude Bennett first was elected for the Ontario PCs in Ottawa South in 1971. He sat concurrently in a municipal position in Ottawa and as MPP for a year before a provincial law was passed in 1972 banning this. He served in Bill Davis' cabinet as Minster of Housing, of Tourism, and of Industry, and continued into Frank Miller's cabinet. Bennett did not run again in 1987.
