John Hall Staffordshire dark rich flow blue plate from the "Quadrupeds" series. The "Quadrupeds" line featured various four-footed mammals, such as lions, rhinos, and musk deer. These are two 10” plates with Lion Center in, Pristine Condition! Nearly mint other than the smallest chip on one of the plates (see last pic) that totally blends into the pattern.
The plate is an antique English earthenware piece produced around 1802-1832.
It features a blue and white transferware design based on illustrations from natural history books of the time.
The manufacturer, John Hall, was a prominent producer of Staffordshire pottery, with wares primarily sold to the North American market.
