- Harpist Andreas Vollenweider is best known for his subtle instrumental synthesis of folk, classical, jazz, and pop strains, dubbed New Age by some. But EOLIAN MINSTRAL is something of a major departure for him, as it features lyrics written and sung by the singer/songwriters Carly Simon and Eliza Gilkyson. Both have distinctive, worldly, and soothing voices that meld masterfully with Vollenweider's harp, mythical/philosophical words, Celtic-influenced melodies, and muted beats.
