Description: (Includes the photos)

For Sale: A luncheon or small dinner plate made in Limoges, France. The actual manufacturer is not marked but may be WM Guerin. The plate has a multicolored floral design with a gold edge. The pattern is not marked, and the design is very similar to many other Limoges plates (i.e., if you’re looking to match a specific pattern, check closely.)  Manufacturer: WM Guerin (?) Date: c1930s (?) Dimensions: 9 3/4” (diameter), 13.1 oz. (weight)

Identifying Marks: backstamp: Green Fleur de Lis Mark surrounded by LIMOGES FRANCE. There are no other marks.

Note: This backstamp is found on a number of pieces dated in the 1930’s and or identified as being made by WM Guerin. So, that’s my guess for this plate.

Condition: Nice with a little light wear and the usual few small manufacturing surface defects. Please study the photos.

Thanks for considering this item.

The Fine Print:

Descriptions: I try to provide accurate (and AI free) descriptions but I’m not an expert -- my assessments can be off and internet sources may not be accurate. I try to list defects that are hard to see, but I might miss something, so do zoom in on the scans.

Photos/Scans: These are an important part of the description. You need to examine them closely. If you see something you don’t like, there’s a good chance it’s still going to be there when you open the package. Still, it might be just a shadow or the lighting. Also, there might be something missing that you need to see. So, if it’s a deal breaker, please ask me about it before buying (or not buying). Note: Unrelated items, e.g. a coin for scale, are not included. The sale includes only the item(s) detailed in the written description.

Definitions:

“Antique” means at least 100 years old, while “Vintage” means at least 50 years old. Often, this is just my estimate and should not be taken as an expert assessment.

“Crazing” is a pattern of fine cracks that commonly develops in the glazing of ceramic items with age and thermal stress.

Best Offer: Offers are welcome, but shipping isn’t negotiable because eBay charges the listed amount anyway.

Delivery Time: Any time given in this listing is an eBay estimate – not mine and it is not guaranteed. The USPS does not guarantee delivery times for the First Class, Ground Advantage, and Priority Mail shipments that I use. Delays on their part are always a possibility, especially during the holidays. This is rarely an issue but be aware.

Sales Taxes: eBay will collect and remit your local sales tax(s) on your purchase in accordance with applicable state law. My being in tax free New Hampshire won’t save you.

Returns: items may be returned for a refund within 30 days. You may have to pay for the return shipping.

Questions: Asking about an item is easier than returning it. If you notice an error in this listing, please let me know. Corrections are welcome.
