Right from a Small In Town Estate, I purchased a Pair of these WONDERFUL, circa 1938 SIGNED BLUE FOX studio HAND TOOLED DECORATIVE COPPER PLAQUES all in the ORIGINAL STUDIO WOODEN FRAMES and each has the ORIGINAL PAPER NUMBERED LABEL on the back. The studio was located in NEW ALBANY, INDIANA and incorporated in 1938. They made mostly hand tooled decorative plaques in aluminum and copper ... in the Post Depression Era. (1938-1950). Later they did signs and advertising for corporations.
The one I am selling in this listing is VERY FAINTLY SCRIPT SIGNED in the Lower Left Corner and note the ORIGINAL BLUE FOX LABEL on the Back of the ORIGINAL STUDIO WOOD FRAME. (The BETTER label of the 2)Take the time to notice the wonderful wood and its grain .... Indiana... perhaps a chestnut?
Note the HAND TOOLED COPPER DOG ... I can assume a HUNTING DOG ... perhaps an IRISH SETTER or a POINTER of some breed. You guys will know.
