Flavius Claudius Constantius Gallus (326–354) was a prominent figure in the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire from 351 to 354. He served as Caesar under Emperor Constantius II, his cousin. Gallus, a member of the Constantinian dynasty, was born during the reign of his uncle, Constantine the Great, and managed to survive the turbulent period following Constantine's death. Stationed in Antioch as deputy emperor, he was married to Constantius' sister, Constantina. Gallus faced challenges, including dealing with a Jewish revolt during his tenure. However, his relationship with Constantius deteriorated, leading to his eventual execution. He was succeeded by his younger half-brother, Julian.
