Austrian sculptor and porcelain designer; lived in Selb from 1918 to 1927, where he worked for the Rosenthal and Hutschenreuth manufactories and briefly also for the Fraureuth porcelain manufactory.

'KOREAN DANCE'
Dancer in oriental costume with traditional Korean-looking headgear, performing a dance pose with raised, bent leg and arms, leaning on a Chinese pagoda on her leg.
The figure is richly painted in bright colors and gold and is based on a white, stepped oval base with a gold edge.
The template for this design was a photo by Alexander Binder, which shows the dancer Anita Berber in a corresponding pose during her Korean dance.
ANITA BERBER (1899 - 1928) was a German dancer, actress and self-promoter. She studied acting and dance and soon became a star on Berlin's stages.
