Top quality tie in classic:
8.5 cm width
139 cm total length from end to end.
4.5 cm tail.
This classic regimental stripe design tie is similar to the classic sutherland and argyle stripe but this is woven into a Navy, Blue, Red & white colouration a repp weave base that would be suitable for dress with more city suits or with a Jacket in a navy/charcoal colours in winter orr summer. A very preppy style which holds the Military sword crest.
Handmade in UK so you know its top notch.
Branded navy lining is used to face the blades.
The actual Gieves and Hawkes company has fallen into administration due to various buy outs/administrations over the years unfortunately.
Just when it looked like it was going to have a resurgence from 2018 onwards, the pandemic finished off a lot of people working on savile row and many brands.
Silk is a delicate fabric and can pull on sharp edges, rough skin and jagged nails (so be careful).
Silk is natural and it takes from 6/12 months to biodegrade.
Would be a great gift or yourself or a loved one.
Ideally you should wear with a classic suit or jacket with a normal width collar/lapel. Do not wear it with a skinny lapel jacket as a wide classic tie worn with a skinny collar/lapel will look odd.
This tie would sit perfectly with a white or blue shirt in a normal poplin base.
Although a few years old it looks as good as new (as you can see). And it is a snip
