Here we have a lovely Vintage 700c Road Bike Handbuilt Clincher Wheelset. The wheelset has Mavic Module E2 rims laced to Maillard Large Flange Hubs. The rear Hub is a flip flop hub, one side to run a fixed sprocket and the other side to run a freehub. Prior to sale the rear had a 5 speed freehub fitted. Outer rim width 19.5mm, front spacing 96mm (97mm actual) and rear spacing 120mm (122mm actual).

The wheels have just had a hub re-grease. They spin well with a little bit of grittiness. I think this could be improved with new bearings but I personally would be happy to ride them as they are. The front wheel is very true, the rear has a slight wobble which could be ironed out quite easily with a bit of patience. The rims have some staining from brake use but they look to have very little wear. The Mavic rim stickers are all fully intact, the wheel builder decal of a”Honley Cycles of Wakefield has pretty much faded away. I’ve left the tyres on for protection during transit but they will need changing as they have cracked.
