The diagnostics report that the IR Energy level is low. After running Automatic Alignment, the Energy reading stabilizes around 9,000, which is below the normal operating range for these units. The system also shows a warning stating “IR energy is very low. Data collected may be of poor quality.” Despite the low-energy warning, the unit was still able to run a test and correctly identified a water sample. No further testing was performed.
After booting up (around 3 minutes), Windows XP displays a “Files Needed / parport.sys” message. I clicked Cancel and the HazMatID software opened normally.
