La Collection Spitzer was the most important private collections of medieval and Renaissance art, old weapons and armour towards le fin siécle in Europe. 

Frédéric Spitzer (1815 - 1890) was a Hungarian-born collector and dealer in paintings, armour and objets d'art. So extensive was his collection, it took three months to auction off on his death in 1890.

This is an original heliogravure plate from the multi-volume, 1893 catalogue of this collection. One of several plates from the tome deuxieme of this important catalogue sourced, newly framed and offered here on eBay. SEE LAST FOUR IMAGES.
