Stylish circa 1960 12” Drink Pitcher Domino pattern by CERAMANO. Metal domino plate attached. Beautiful ceramic stopper with full cork. Signed under base “55 /DOMINO /W.Germany / Handarbeit” and the artist’s cipher.

No chips, cracks, flakes, repairs or mineral deposits. Looks like this was used as just a decoration for the past 50+ years. A great addition to your mid-century CERAMANO or German pottery collection or just a great accent piece in your MCM home

In 1959, JAKOB SCHWADERLAPP, owner of JASBA KERAMIK in Ransbach, founded JASBA’s well-heeled sister company, CERAMANO KUNSTKERAMIK W.J. SCHWADERLAPP KG. CERAMANO became a powerhouse in its own right with the production of many higher-end experimental forms and glazes intended to closely resemble the work of individual studio potters, and to be sold in better department stores and speciality shops throughout Europe. His son and associate WILLI SCHWADERLAPP took over management of the Company in 1964. The founding goal of CERAMANO was to establish a market segment for superior and therefor costly ceramic objects, of which the production until then was solely restricted to small ceramic workshops. The idea was to produce high quality ceramics by applying modern production methods while still observing the methods of artistic craftsmen. When they announced the extensive production range at a detailed advertising campaign at the 1960 Frankfurt Spring Fair, HANS WELLING was introduced as in charge of not only all shapes and decorations, but also of the entire presentation and product advertising (exhibition stands, catalogues, advertising photography and adverts), the vision of the enterprise and the concept of the entire program. He remained in charge until 1962, after which design was taken over by GERDA HEUCKEROTH. Unfortunately, in 1984 the firm filed for insolvency and all production ceased.
