the JNR class c12 was a small, light weight, 2-6-2 tanker locomotive designed for service on the secondary routes of rural japan.....essentially, the precurser of the c56 class, 282 engines were constructed between 1932 and 1940 by kawasaki, nippon sharyo,  et al with operating speeds up to 75 kph;  the tank engine configuration facilitated reverse operations as rural routes often had no turntables.......obsolescence occurred in the late 1960s.......

the accessories for the model include number boards and coupler alternatives and snow plows for both ends.......the head lamps at both ends of the locomotive are functional.......
