Charming hand stiched Needlepoint throw pillow with a Land Crab Motive inspired by art works by 18th Century famous naturalist Mark Catesby. The front is embroidered with wool tread and the ivory color velvet back features a hidden zipper. 

The pillow measures approx. 20“ X 16“ x 5“ and it is in overall excellent condition without signs of age wear or obvious use. 

100% wool, hand-crafted needlepoint work on front with ivory color cotton velveteen backing. 

This image of the crab is replicated from drawings featured in The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands catalog (1731-1747) by famed naturalist Mark Catesby. Catesby was one of several 18th-century explorers who ventured to remote areas of the world to document regional flora and fauna.
