      Original design by Dondorf  in 1908 for russian empress Russia Maria Feodorovna -Sophie Frederikke Dagmar (1847-1918)   The Empress Maria's card printing plant made every effort to ensure that the new cards surpassed the best foreign examples in beauty, elegance, and durability.

       The color designs were created on stones-chromolithography by the factory's finest master, Mr. Michael. The cards were printed on the finest pure rag paper in 16 colors.
