Description:
Authentic 1979 Austrian 100 Schilling silver commemorative coin issued to mark the **700th Anniversary of the Cathedral of Wiener Neustadt (1279–1979)**. The cathedral, one of Lower Austria’s most significant Gothic landmarks, was originally commissioned by Emperor Leopold VI and completed in the late 13th century. It remains the episcopal seat of the Military Ordinariate of Austria.  

The obverse features the **Austrian Federal Eagle** clutching a hammer and sickle with broken chains symbolizing freedom and independence, designed by **Wilfried Wögerer**. The legend reads *REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH 100 SCHILLING.*  
The reverse, engraved by **Bettina Richter**, depicts the Wiener Neustadt Cathedral façade with the inscription *700-JAHRFEIER DES DOMES ZU WIENER NEUSTADT 1979.*  

Each coin is struck in **.640 fine silver**, weighs approximately **20 grams** (≈ 12.8 g pure Ag), and measures **34 mm** in diameter. Issued by the **Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich)** in Vienna with an estimated mintage of **800,000 pieces** in both uncirculated and proof formats.
