Description:
Authentic 1970 Austrian 50 Schilling silver coin commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the University of Innsbruck (Universität Innsbruck), founded in 1670 by Emperor Leopold I. This coin celebrates Austria’s academic and cultural heritage with elegant design and historic symbolism.
Obverse features Emperor Leopold I in regal attire surrounded by heraldic shields and banners representing the University. Reverse displays the Austrian provincial shields surrounding the denomination “50 Schilling,” symbolizing the unity of the nation’s states.
Designed by Austrian artist Martha Coufal-Hartl and struck at the Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich) in .640 fine silver. A bright, detailed example with strong relief and minimal surface wear.

From my grandfather’s personal collection. He was an antique dealer in Austria and preserved this coin in excellent condition for decades. Now offered as a genuine collectible piece of Austrian history.
