**Description:**  
Up for sale is an authentic **1965 Austrian 50 Schilling silver commemorative coin**, issued to celebrate the **600th Anniversary of the University of Vienna (Universität Wien)**, one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Founded in 1365 by Duke Rudolf IV — known as *Rudolf der Stifter* (“Rudolf the Founder”) — the university remains a cornerstone of Austrian scholarship and culture.

The obverse displays the **coats of arms of Austria’s nine provinces**, encircling the denomination *50 SCHILLING* and the inscription *REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH*. The reverse features a **detailed portrait of Duke Rudolf IV wearing an ornate crown**, surrounded by the legend *600 JAHRE UNIVERSITÄT WIEN 1365–1965 RUDOLF DER STIFTER*.
