Applying Goldmine Grading to DVDs:
  • A DVD graded as Mint would be in perfect, factory-new condition, possibly still sealed, with no flaws or signs of wear whatsoever.
  • This DVD would appear virtually flawless, with only the most minor, insignificant cosmetic imperfections that do not affect playback in any way.
  • The DVD would show some signs of handling and play, with minor surface scratches or scuffs that are mostly cosmetic and do not impact the viewing experience.
  • More pronounced signs of wear would be visible, including noticeable surface wear or minor scratches that might cause very slight visual imperfections, though playback should remain largely unaffected.
  • A Good-graded DVD would show significant wear, potentially with visible scratches, dullness, or even minor cosmetic damage to the case, but the disc should still be playable through without skipping or major issues.
  • This would indicate a DVD with substantial damage, such as deep scratches, warping, or a severely damaged case, to the point where playback might be severely compromised or impossible.
Important Considerations:
  • Case Grading:
The Goldmine system often includes a separate grading for the case or packaging, which should also be considered in conjunction with the media itself.
