These chips are 100% BRAND NEW (New Old Stock), never used, never soldered, and stored in proper anti-static conditions. Genuine PA6T processors in new condition are extremely rare, as production ended shortly after Apple acquired P.A. Semi.
The PA6T-1682M-LEL is a dual-core 64-bit PowerPC processor from P.A. Semi’s PWRficient family—renowned for exceptional performance per watt, advanced I/O integration, and industry-leading efficiency for its era. These CPUs were only available for a brief time before being discontinued, making them one of the most collectible and sought-after PowerPC processors ever made.
P.A. Semi was founded by former DEC Alpha, AMD, and Intel engineers with a mission to build high-performance, ultra-efficient PowerPC processors. Their PA6T line was a breakthrough—combining server-class capability with remarkably low power consumption.
In 2008, Apple acquired P.A. Semi to bring the engineering team in-house for future Apple Silicon development. After the acquisition, commercial sales of PA6T processors were stopped entirely. This sudden end to production created a very limited supply, and brand new PA6T chips are nearly impossible to find today.
One of the only production systems to use this CPU was the AmigaOne X1000, making these chips especially valuable for owners needing spares or replacements.
