Offering a respectable working replica of the iconic 1940's RCA 74B Ribbon Microphone at an affordable price-point. Physically, this was built to the same size dimensions of the real RCA 74B, and built strong...NO plastics or 3D print. ALL metal construction, from the bottom casing, to the upper highly-polished chromed grills, everything is solid aluminum, with the lower casing having the same "Umber Grey" paint as the real RCA 7B. Even has a CNC cut aluminum RCA "meatball" badge on the front side. Condition of the mic is near mint, mildest signs of wear. (This is not a Heil casing, but a unique build.)
Inside is housed a high quality ribbon drive (figure-8 polar pattern with 1.8-micron, 2" long  aluminum ribbon with powerful neodymium magnets) and 1:36 transformer. The sound is awesome...velvety smooth lows with natural mids and high's, this mic will faithfully capture the sound of almost anything you put in front of it. (Check out the voice sample in the listing video.) The pickup pattern is figure 8, bi-directional. The vintage Astatic desk stand is included in the sale, along with a short pigtail cable terminating with a male XLR plug. Desk stand shows some wear and age. Mic with stand measures 16" tall. .
