EQStarProEQ3 – NEW equatorial mount control system designed to automate the control of the equatorial mount, and can be used in stand-alone mode and in a control mode using a computer or mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.).

This kit is based on the latest, high-performance EQStarPRO controller.

Compared to other controllers, the NEW EQStarPRO is faster, more powerful, quieter and smoother! 

On a PC, EQStarProEQ3 kit works with any astronomical programs that support the ASCOM platform. For example, with the planetarium Stellarium, Cartes de Ciel, StarCalc and others. Among astrophotography and auto-guiding programs, EQStarProEQ3 supports MaximDL, Guidemaster, PHD2 and others. When you work with a PC, EQStarProEQ3 can automatically find celestial objects and automatically track them (directing) during astrophotography with a high shutter speed. Also, when working with a PC, you need to install the ASCOM application EQMOD.

EQStarProEQ3 also supports working with the INDI astronomical platform and ZWO ASIAIR Pro.

Controlling the telescope using mobile devices allows you to automatically find celestial objects. In the planetarium program on a mobile device, either Celestron or SynScan should be selected as a telescope control, as well as a mount – a German equatorial mount. EQStarProEQ3 supports the following mobile applications – SkySafari, Stellarium mobile plus, DSOPlaner and others.

EQStarProEQ3 communicates with a PC via USB or WiFi, and with a mobile device via WiFi.

The variety of platforms, drivers, and applications that EQStarProEQ3 can run on makes it possible to create particularly user-friendly control conditions depending on the tasks.

For example, an astrophotographer typically uses a laptop or PC to search for, aim and direct an object during a long exposure. These features are mainly programs running under Windows. But for a lover of visual astronomy, it is much more convenient to control the mount using a compact mobile device, smartphone or tablet, rather than using a PC or laptop.

EQStarProEQ3 comes with a universal joystick for manual control, which allows you to autonomously control mounting without a computer, smartphone or tablet.
