This is a genuine U.S. Army officer’s dress visor cap from the WWII/Korean War era, likely for a general or senior officer rank. It features the iconic silver Great Seal eagle insignia, and dense gold bullion oak-leaf embroidery (“scrambled eggs”) on the visor and cap band. The cap is tailored with a black wool/felt top, woven mohair band around the crown, and a brown leather sweat-band perforated for ventilation, with a paper “No. 2356” tag inside.
This piece would make an excellent addition for the military‐collector, uniform enthusiast, or display aficionado. Wearable (with care) or display-ready.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Structurally sound, complete bullion embroidery, original leather sweat-band and liner, moderate age wear. Sweat-band shows cracking and loosened stitching near the rear, liner has some light discoloration.
