For sale via this listing is an accumulation of parts that have all been identified as being suitable for one or more variations of the Rootes side-valve Minx models and/or the related Commer van and pick-up and/or the Cob/Husky Mark I, plus sometimes also the Sunbeam Talbot Ten in this particular case

The parts included in this offer are all engine related and as follows:

• 1 off - Hepolite "OILMASTER" Piston Ring Set, Reference 1854 - Box printed label showing "HILLMAN TYPE 65.087 2.9/16" STD" and box marked "96/4" by hand (96 shillings and 4 pence, or £4 16s 4d or £4.816666666...... for the unitiated)
• Note to the above - 65.087mm, 2.9/16" => 1265 c.c.
• 4 off - Bush (small end), Rootes Part No. P.83546
• 7 off - Bush (small end), Vandervell Products markings, equivalent to Rootes Part No. P.83546
• Note on the bushes - "Bush - small end" (Rootes P.83546, superseded by P.88664) is shown in a 1961 Minx/Commer parts list as applicable to the Minx Mk. IV to VIII (side-valve), so applies to the 1265 c.c. engine only; the 1185 c.c. engine did not have a small end bush, as the gudgeon pins were secured to the conrods
• 1 off - Valve Spring set - Terry "AERO" brand, 8 pairs of double springs. Terry reference V.S.280
• 1 off - Valve Spring set - Tranco 9624 - 8 single springs- Box marked "HILLMAN Minx Mk. VII"
• Note on the valve springs - double springs (Rootes P.47885) are shown in a 1961 Minx/Commer parts list as an alternative to the single valve springs (Rootes P.104336) and applicable via that arrangement to the Minx Mk. III (1185 c.c.) and the Minx Mk. IV to VIII (side-valve, 1265 c.c.)

• 1 off - Valve marked TRANCO XB 1159 JM with printed label/ticket (associated with S. King & Sons, Halifax)
• 10 off - Valve, loose, without any packaging or wrapping - all marked EN 59
