Beaded Gourd Rattle

The bell gourd is about 9 inches in circumference.  The 5-inch tip is thread wrapped to compliment the handle in black, red, dark red, honey yellow, light red and orange.  The tip is finished using dyed red horsehair. 

The hand turned, designed and beaded handle is about 8 1/4 inches long is finished with a light coat of gloss urethane. The bead colors include purple, orange, chestnut, red, amber and ivory. The end of the handle features 11 twisted white buckskin 7-inch buckskin fringes.  

The overall length of the gourd rattle is about 12-inches excluding the fringes and tip. The beaded tip comes in a protective plastic tube.

This is a very nice gourd rattle crafted by Native American Navajo artisan Harry Nez.  It is arena ready and would make an outstanding easily mailable gift or give away item.
