The bell gourd is about 8 3/4-inches in circumference. The 5 1/2-inch tip is thread wrapped to compliment the handle in dark green, black, red, yellow and white. The tip is finished using natural white horsehair. The rattle features a hand carved waterbird. The hand turned, design carved and beaded handle is about 8 inches long is stained in walnut color and finished with a coat of gloss urethane. The bead colors include black, chestnut, pearl, red, orange, yellow, white, pink, crystal, light green and emerald green. The end of the handle features 12 hand twisted white buckskin 5-inch buckskin fringes.
The overall length of the gourd rattle is about 11 inches excluding the fringes and tip. The beaded tip comes in a protective plastic tube.
This is a very nice gourd rattle crafted by Native American Navajo artisan Harry Nez. It is arena ready and would make an outstanding easily mailable gift or give away item.
