Madonna Figure Play 'n Pray Doll by Alice Rowe!

This is a very rare doll that is also a religious figure.  This lovely Madonna stands about 11 inches tall and is made completely of a rubber or vinyl material.  She is from 1955 and her face has the type of coloring and look of the 1950's.  She is slightly dusty-dirty but not too bad considering her age.  Her cloak does come off if needed for light cleaning, and it is yellowed with age.  Her halo and sandals are the only areas that the paint seems to have faded a bit and it is somewhat uneven.

These dolls or figures were made so that children could actually pretend play with them.  They might be able to act out Bible stories with them.  

Her back is stamped with a paragraph that reads:  "Copyright 1955, Alice Rowe, Akron, OH, T. M. Reg. Pend., US Patent Office, Patent Pending, Play 'n Pray Toy".
