Hosted by Modi Bar-On, the series weaves together archival footage and current shots to tell the story of the city, from its beginnings as a small Jewish settlement to its transformation into a modern metropolis. A recurring theme throughout the series is the ongoing conflict between the old and the new, between the "Tel" and the "Aviv," between Jaffa and Tel Aviv, which Bar-On calls the "city with a moat at its heart
