For early Shure 55 microphones that did not have the on-off switch on board, these were marketed by Shure as an accessory to give you that function. The switch interfaces between the microphone and the desk stand, locking on with the included threaded bolt, and features the single knob two-position on-off switch. It has the 3 pin male Amphenol connector for the mic side, and 3 pin Amphenol female connector on the opposing end. There is some aging and mild wear on the metal casing, but the unit has been tested and is in good working order. Still has most of the Shure decal on the front.
