Most likely one-of-a-kind, this little black dress is made of a sheer silk crepe weave fabric. In a fantastic ombré effect, the white beading falls evenly throughout main body of dress, but gathers in intensity toward the hem. The hem features large scallop-shape cuts, with a very fine zig-zag finish, and hi-lo style hemline -higher in the front, lower in the back. The dress consists of several panels, or gores, of fabric, giving it an extremely fitted silhouette, as compared to some of the more boxy silhouettes from this era (I believe it leans more late 1920's because of this). The almost-bateau neckline features a wide white section of the seed beading. Sorry, dress does not come with an underlay or slip, and has no labels or maker's marks present. Overall condition is excellent & wearable (with care!). The original sleeves were removed by the former owner, and I have done my best to finish the ragged cut job, but I would suggest adding a ribbon or some other form of reinforcement, should you desire to wear this piece often. There are a few small issues to note; a repaired tear at wearer's back right arm hole, a few of the smaller seed beads have been replaced, but as I did not have any in the larger size, there is still one bead missing from back lower skirt area. ALSO PLEASE NOTE: this dress contains a set of metal snap closures at wearer's left side seam, and there are no other closures. Please check the measurements carefully for sizing. You will definitely need a friend to get in and out of this dress, and there's only one way to do it: the shimmy! You will need to be able to get this dress over your head and shimmied down.
