The Antique Vintage Steel Miller Lock Co. Pancake Padlock with Key is a rare and collectible piece from the early 1900s. This 6 lever push key steel padlock was manufactured in the United States and features a unique pancake design. With its historical significance and craftsmanship, this lock is a valuable addition to any collection of vintage locks and keys.
The padlocks is associated with the D.K. Miller Lock Company of Philadelphia, which was incorporated in 1871 and reincorporated in 1904. The company was particularly known for its "pancake" locks and was eventually sold to the Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company in the 1930s. The padlock features a six-lever push-key mechanism, a design originating from Daniel K. Miller's patents from 1870 and 1873. Early versions featured the company name and patent date, while later models might have cast designs like "Miller's".
