Motorola AM Bakelite Tube Radio Model 57X12 "Pyramid" - 1948 Rare

Radio hums right after turning on, needs recapped / serviced.

Looks like was worked on in distant past but appears that the person doing so didn't own a soldering iron nor a pair of needle nose pliers. So, fully expect to service this one. 

Speaker looks fine. Tuner looks good. Wire insulations are a bit hard but don't seem brittle and probably not an issue. 

The Cord is hard and will need replaced. 

No cracks or chips in the Bakelite, the original paint has chipping and scratches.

Very attractive style in painted ivory.
