Offered for sale is a Whitman Coin Album for Lincoln Memorial Cents (1952 - 1982).  The folder number in the Whitman series is 9000.  The album is complete, with no gaps, and the pennies can all be classified, or graded, as being "Brilliant Uncirculated."

Although I am not a true expert in this field (numismatics), I was once an enthusiastic amateur.  As such, way back in 1983 as a young boy, I arranged for the purchase of this "set" through a company called the "International Mint."  In turn, they sold me this Whitman folder, and the sequential 52 pennies that you see here, which they'd already gathered together and marketed as some kind of coin collector's starter kit.  That is what you see here.

Anyhow, this specific set was meant to commemorate the Lincoln Memorial cent series, on up through the end of the true copper penny --which was last minted in 1982.  In 1983, you see, the US mint began using a 97.5% zinc to 2.5% copper alloy for producing pennies.  Prior to that the mint originally used 95% copper blanks to manufacture pennies (up through 1982).

This album recognizes that momentous event, and it did so with a rather clever bit of marketing.  There's even a printed "Certificate of Authenticity" and commemorative pamphlet that comes along with this set.  I'll be sure to include that for the eventual buyer, as it's shown in the uploaded photographs, along with a plastic penny-sized storage tube with the International Mint identifying wrapper.

After 40+ years of ownership, I'm ready to pass this along to a new collector.  What is shown here in the photos is exactly what you'll get.

Please also feel free to ask any additional questions you may have before purchasing:  I’ll do my best to answer them.  You may additionally check out my feedback to satisfy yourself that I am a longtime and honest eBay seller.

I will gladly ship this coin folder to any address in the USA; or to any other country where permitted by law.

Thanks for looking at my listing!
