This is an original antique Edwardian period 1908 souvenir program from The Palace Pavilion of Blackpool, England. This program is die-cut figural piece cut in the shape of a butterfly that folds open to about 9” x 6” at the widest points. The inside pages indicate this program is for the 1908 Season with dates August 25, 27th and 19th. The program lists the entertainment lineup for Afternoon and Evening sessions. The colorful cover panels depicting a butterfly are done in a charming almost Art Nouveau style.
Included in the program is something called “The Children’s Dream of Toyland by 150 Local Children” which is described as “Invented, arranged, and produced by Mdlle. Pauline Rivers, Ballet Directress from the principal London and Continental Theatres”.
The bottom of the program is printed “God Save The King”. This antique original program is fully complete and intact with light handling wear and moderate toning from age. The name “Maxwell & Co.” is printed at the bottom of the front cover presumably indicating the printer. Overall condition is very good. Email any questions. Thanks for looking.
