"As long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours, that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself".

The Iconic document is held atby the National Records of Scotland (NRS) and were due to be exhibited a the National Museum of Scotland in 2020 on the occasion of the 700th anniversary but had to be put off due to Covid restrictions. NRS hopes that in due course the exhibition will be rescheduled so that members of the public have the opportunity to see this iconic document.
