Napoleonic French 28mm Line Infantry 1st Company Fusiliers, x16, Some Chipping
This listing is for a group of 16 metal French Napoleonic Line Infantry. I originally thought they were Old Glory metals but I am now unsure. They are 28mm figures, and are mounted four apiece on rectangular bases made of some kind of board. The models are nicely painted, however, there is quite a bit of chipping throughout. Movement tray not included. Please see the pictures, what you see is what you will receive.
Please note, that the NCO (the model leaning forward with his right arm raised) has had his bayonet broken off. Furthermore, on the base with the command figures, the fusilier to the far left is somewhat wobbly on its base due to damage - I broke it off and reglued it but the model is still a little shaky. The officer's sword is also bent. The command base has also warped, such that the left and right edges have bent up and no longer touch the table. As mentioned, there is also chipping throughout on the models - mainly on raised points like the rims of the shakos/bicorns, the heels of boots, and the tails of habits, as well as the front left corner of the command base. Furthermore, the black parts of the muskets are glossy. Flock was nicely applied to the bases, giving the unit a woodland feel, but some flock also got onto the hands and other parts of some fusiliers.
Despite that, the unit is quite nicely painted, and the painter went to lengths to do the white cuff piping and the red piping on the front of their habits. The unit consists of 13 fusiliers, an NCO, a porte-aigle with paper flag (pre-1812), and an officer. The officer seems to be smaller than the others and perhaps is from a different manufacturer. This line infantry group has been painted as a battalion's 1st company, as denotated by the light blue pom-poms. The unit can function as an infantry assault column in your Napoleonic wargames.
This group was bought painted nearly a decade ago at the flea market of an Historicon event, alongside a French artillery piece I sold some time ago. While I enjoyed owning this group and gaming with them, I have been trying to downsize my Napoleonic collection. I hope these can go to an appreciative home where they will see many more games!
