This is a plate of Silurian ripened Scyphocrinites elegans crinoids from Boutschrafin, Erfoud, Morocco.

The Scyphocrinites crinoids are mined at Erfoud, Morocco by digging straight down 4 meters until the stratum is reached. Once the crinoid horizon is located, a tunnel is dug by hand. The stone, earth, and crinoid plates must then be hauled to the surface in baskets, where they are reassembled and prepared. So it's a very labor intensive process to bring a beautiful Crinoid record like this to market.
