Condition: This item seems to have never been put in service. The plastic door to the wiring does not show the necessary breakage to allow for a wire to reach the circuit board. The protective tape is still present on the mounting tab sticker. It seems to have been moved around outside of the original box and shows some minor signs of abrasion under unfavorable lighting.
Testing: I have no system compatible with this sensor, so I am unable to provide any sense if this item is functional. It is fairly clear that due to it near new condition, it is not an old sensor coming from a working system. Like folks in the trade say, it seems "new old stock". This item is sold as-is/for parts for this reason. The price is kept low, and will ship in an envelope to keep cost down. Hopefully this is the replacement item someone is looking for to keep an older system operational, and is willing to take a chance on this untested item.
