REALLY BEAUTIFUL, Early 1902 Antique Metal/Wooden Victorian Stereo Photo "Stereoptican" Viewer 

DESCRIPTION: One of the most beautiful, and nicest made/finished, metal/wooden antique Victorian stereo viewer, from my personal collection. Also known as a "stereoptican" device.  Patent marked 1902.  It has "engraved" decorations similar as often seen, BUT IT HAS ABOUT TWICE AS MANY, AND THEY ARE FANCIER THAN I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ONE OF THESE !!!   MAKES A PARTICULARLY NICE/FANCY  ANTIQUE DECORATOR THAN OTHERS IF THAT IS YOUR OBJECTIVE.

This is an interesting device that holds and enables viewing stereo view cards, and is designed to provide a 3-dimensional photo viewing effect. It enables sliding the card holder back and forth as needed to enable precise focus according to each individual person's preference. Still has both of the metal clips on the sides to hold each card in place. It also is fitted with 2 thick tilted magnification lenses to enlarge and focus the detail of the stereo photos and a hood" to facilitate clear vision, as shown. Has a fancy turned folding wooden handle on the bottom to hold the device while viewing (these are often broken or missing).

These devices are very unusual and very Victorian in style. Very popular during the late 1800s - early 1900s. 

Scans show all the details.  NOT ONLY FANCY, THIS IS A VERY NICE, WELL MADE, COMPLETE, AND FUNCTIONAL UNIT!  Again, perfect as an antique decorator, or again, IT CAN STILL BE USED, IN NICE CONDITION OVERALL. The wood is in excellent condition and nice wood finish as well as excellent condition metal.

THIS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF AN ANTIQUE PATENT STEREOPTICAN. IF YOU WANT A  GREAT LOOKING, FUNCTIONAL, STEREO VIEWER, IT IS ONE OF THE NICER, RARER ONES YOU WILL FIND!!   Complete and a nice example.
