Ship Prototype History:
The Montana Class Battleship Was A Planned But Never Actually Built Battleship By The United States Navy During World War II. It Is The Last Class Battleship Designed By The United States Navy. This Class Is An Inherited Version Of The Iowa Class Battleships And The South Dakota Class Battleships. Although The Speed Has Decreased, It Has A Larger Appearance, Heavier Armor, And Stronger Firepower. Its Design Scheme Even Influenced The Design Plan For The Two Battleships "Lion" And "Brave" Drafted By Britain In 1939. It Is Hailed As The Pinnacle Of The United States' Emphasis On Firepower And Protective Performance At The Cost Of Sacrificing Speed. The Construction Plan For The Montana Class Was Approved By The United States Navy In The 1940 "Twin Ocean Navy" Program And The Relevant Budget Was Passed In 1941. The Five Warships Of This Class Are Numbered BB-67 To BB-71. If All The Montana Class Battleships Were Built, The Us Navy In The Late 1940s Would Have 17 Battleships. However, During World War II, The Us Navy Needed To Build A Large Number Of Aircraft Carriers, Amphibious Landing Ships, And Anti Submarine Ships. This Led To The Complete Cancellation Of The Montana Class Construction Plan In July 1943. Starting From July 1943, The Us Navy Shifted Towards Aircraft Carriers As The Core, Replacing The Dominant Position Of Battleships As The Maritime Hegemon With Aircraft Carriers. As A Result, The Construction Of This "Hegemon Of Battleships" Was Immediately Cancelled.
