Vintage Edith Heath Ceramics Plaza Line 4”x4” Pottery Tapas Dish

OOAK Abstract Hand Art

The Plaza dinnerware line with its contemporary square corners was designed by Edith Heath in the 1980s. I have been unable to find another dish with the same art, which leads me to believe it is one-of-a-kind. My sources suggest that a glazer turned a blank Plaza Line tapas plate into a quirky, personal piece of art.

Blue and white tapas dish with dramatic abstract hand design

Sizes are approximate. 4 inches x 4 inches square. 7/8 inches tall.

In excellent original condition. See separate condition section and enlarge photos.

The incised backstamp is worn. It faintly reads:

SAUSALITO CA

Edith Heath (1911-2005) an influential potter and designer of the Modernist era, founded Heath Ceramics in 1948 in Sausalito, California. It is one of the few remaining mid-century American potteries still in business today.

A delightful small dish.
