This Buy It Now sale is for a 500mm long shielded tonearm wiring loom, suitable for fitment to RegaRB250 & RB300 Tonearms.
Each of the stereo conductors ( the red & white wires ) are made from multi-stranded tinned copper & are individually insulated, with both then being further insulated from electromagnetic interference by an outer, tinned copper, spiral screened earthed shielding.
The cable measures 500mm in length & 1.67mm total diameter, it is fitted with gold plated phosphor bronze cartridge tags, to fit 1.2 ~1.3mm cartridge pins - the other end is bare wire tinned, for soldering to the appropriate connection point inside the deck...
As shown in the photos, the earths are joined into one tinned cable at the unterminated end..
Important information / explanation :
In this cable the negative blue & green wires that run from the cartridge ( these are the EARTHS ), combine together with the spiral tinned copper shielding, which results in superb signal transfer & very high EMI and RFI suppression.
This combined earth ( part of which is / was the blue & green wires ) exits the other end of the cable as one single silver solder tinned wire. ...this single earth simply connects, with the help of your soldering skills, to either of the earth points inside your turntable.. where the blue or green tonearm cables were previously located.
|
To clarify: Yes, the silver wire should be connected inside the deck to either one of the previously used earth locations, where the old blue or green tonearm wires were soldered to the decks earth. |
..answers to questions you may have:
- No, the silver wire does not need splitting in two.
- No, the silver wire does not need to be connected to both previous earth posts.
