This is an antique Japanese dance fan (Mai-Ogi), used for traditional Noh or Nihon Buyo performances.
Crafted in the Meiji period (1868–1912), it features the inscription "Nishira" (西羅) and was made by Tomatsuya, a historic fan maker in Fukui.
It measures approximately 330 mm (13 inches) in length when folded.
This piece shows beautiful aging and carries the refined elegance of traditional Japanese performing arts.
