We offer a hotel silver oval platter from the Hotel Imperial in Tampico, Mexico. The silver plate platter was manufactured by Reed & Barton and has no date mark. The Hotel Imperial was officially dedicated in 1904 which dates the platter from 1904 to 1928, when Reed & Barton began using date marks. In 1937, the hotel became an embassy for a few years, then reopened as Imperial Reforma Hotel.
The Hotel Imperial was the first in Mexico to include a nightclub and welcomed many international celebrities including Cantinflas, Orson Wells, and Sergei Einsenstein.
