Offered for sale is a beautiful ceramic PLANTER. It was made by Red Wing Pottery of Red Wing, MN, U.S.A., and is their item no. 1169.  It has a vertical ribbed design, with a flared rim.  It has a glossy glazed finish inside and out, with the outside bright canary yellow, and the inside a deep reddish brown.  The 1169 planter was introduced in 1942.  The designer is unknown.

The planter stands 7 inches (17.8cm) tall, and measures 5 3/4 inches (14.6cm) in diameter at the flared rim. A U.S quarter is included in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.

There are no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs on this bowl, and no crazing in the glaze. The glaze shows some grazing (picture 6), and there is slight lime scale inside, near the bottom.  It is marked 1169 RED WING USA on the bottom, and there's a hairline crack in the glaze there that does not extend through to the ceramic beneath (picture 7).
