An evocative, warm watercolour with atmosphere and depth showing an Arabic market or souk, potentially North African but could also be the Near East and Arabia. Would fit into the trend for Victorian/Edwardian orientalist type watercolours of the 19th Century and Early 20th Century. The work is signed with a monogram bottom right, appears to be CDB, but as is the case with monogrammed works I’m unsure if it is not another combination. Well mounted in a gilt frame. There are some small signs of aging and discolouration that can be seen from the good quality phots included with the listing.
Framed work is ready to hang and measures 53 x 43 cm
